As a proud family-owned business in Chesapeake and Norfolk, My Joy Childcare is truly invested in our mission. Each Hampton Roads location runs with the same level of commitment, excellence and adherence to high standards. Collectively, we bring an extensive background of education and experience in caring for others. Owner Felicia Howard, along with her daughters Aleisha and KeShera, make early childhood care for your child a family priority!

OUR MISSION
My Joy Learning Center & Child Care’s mission is to provide affordable child care of highest quality while creating a stimulating and challenging learning environment that creates successful, enthusiastic learners. Our goal is to team up with our parents to build a strong foundation for learning success. We believe in nurturing the “whole child” including spiritual, intellectual, social and physical well-being. Together, we can develop early readers, strong character and happy children.

OUR PURPOSE
My Joy Learning Center & Child Care is dedicated to providing a fun, warm and educational atmosphere that encourages children to develop at their own pace. We believe that children deserve to develop a positive self-image. We want to help parents to foster that image, along with healthy developmental and spiritual growth. We hope to accomplish this through building and creating strong intellectual, social, physical skills through a variety of group activities, individual play and quiet periods. We believe that through use of various play and learning materials, children gain confidence in their abilities.

ABOUT THE FAMILY
Felicia Howard has a lifelong commitment to serving children and has been a foster parent with the Up Center since 2014. She previously worked for the City of Norfolk Office of Youth Development, where she assisted with the implementation of three after-school programs. She also has worked as office manager at Ghent Elementary and business manager at Norview High School.

Aleisha is the director of the Chesapeake location and has a strong nursing background.
​
KeShera is the director of the Norfolk location and has a background in the health sciences, with a degree in kinesiotherapy.
